How to Recover Accidentally Deleted Locations

Options for getting your locations back if they were accidentally deleted during import or bulk operations.

Updated yesterday

What Happened

The most common way locations get accidentally deleted is during a CSV import. There's a checkbox labeled "Delete all previous locations" on the import screen. If you check it, every existing location in your project gets wiped and replaced with whatever is in the CSV file.

This is permanent. There's no undo button and no trash folder.

Can StoreRocket Restore My Locations?

StoreRocket does not currently have an undo or restore feature for deleted locations. Once they're gone, they're gone from our system. But depending on your setup, you might still have a copy of your data somewhere.

Recovery Options

Option 1: Re-sync from Google Sheets

If you had a Google Sheets sync connected, your spreadsheet still has all your data. Just run a fresh sync and your locations will come right back.

Option 2: Re-import from a CSV Backup

If you have the original CSV file you used to create your locations, re-import it from the Locations page. This time, leave the "Delete all previous locations" checkbox unchecked.

Option 3: Re-import a Recent Export

If you exported your locations before the import, you can re-import that export file. You can always export from the Export page.

None of These Apply?

How to Prevent This in the Future

Always export before importing. Before any bulk import, go to the Export page and download a backup of your current locations. Takes 10 seconds and can save you hours of pain.

Be careful with the delete checkbox. Only check "Delete all previous locations" if you're intentionally replacing your entire dataset. If you're just adding new locations, leave it unchecked.
