\"Your account needs an upgrade\" Error on Widget

Fix the 'Your account needs an upgrade' or 'Account inactive' message showing on your store locator.

If your store locator shows "Your account needs an upgrade" or "Account inactive," it means your StoreRocket subscription has expired, was canceled, or a payment failed.

How to fix it

  1. Go to your Billing page

  2. Check your subscription status

  3. If it's expired or canceled, click Subscribe to reactivate

  4. If your payment failed, click Manage Subscription and update your payment method

Your widget should start working again within a few minutes of reactivating.

Still seeing the error after reactivating?

Give it 2-3 minutes. If it persists:

  1. Clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac)

  2. Clear your CDN cache if you use Cloudflare, WP Rocket, or similar

  3. Check in an incognito window to rule out browser caching

This appeared after upgrading or downgrading

If you changed plans and the error appeared, your payment might not have processed. Check your Billing page and make sure the new subscription is active.

Shopify users

If you installed StoreRocket via the Shopify app and see this error, make sure your Shopify subscription is active. Go to your Shopify admin > Settings > Billing > Subscriptions and check that StoreRocket is listed and active.
