Adding Online-Only Stores or Locations Without a Physical Address

How to handle online retailers, service areas, or locations that don't have a street address.

Updated yesterday

StoreRocket is designed for physical locations with real addresses, but you can work with online-only stores or service areas too. Here's how.

Online stores with no physical address

If you have online retailers or distributors that don't have a storefront:

  1. Create the location with the retailer's city and country (even without a street address)

  2. Use the Website field to link to their online store

  3. Add a filter like "Online" so visitors can distinguish online from physical stores

  4. Optionally set the location as hidden from the map but visible in the list

The location will geocode to the city level, which is usually close enough for an "online" listing.

Service area businesses

For businesses that serve an area but don't have a public address (like mobile services or delivery zones):

  1. Use a central point in the service area as the address

  2. Add a note in the description explaining the service area

  3. Use the Website or CTA button to link to their booking/contact page

Locations with only coordinates

If you have latitude and longitude but no street address:

  1. Add the location with the coordinates in the Latitude and Longitude fields

  2. Leave the address fields empty or add a description like "Mobile Service"

  3. The pin will appear on the map at the exact coordinates

Tips

  • Use filters to let visitors filter between physical stores and online retailers

  • Use custom fields to add "Online Only" or "Service Area" labels

  • The CTA button can link visitors directly to the online store or booking page
