The leads feature captures contact information from visitors who search your store locator but don't find a nearby location. Instead of a dead end, they see a form where they can leave their details. You get a new lead, and they feel heard.
It's a simple way to turn missed searches into business opportunities.
How it works
Here's the flow from a visitor's perspective:
Visitor searches for a location near them
No stores are found within the search radius
A form pops up asking for their contact info
Visitor fills in their details and submits
You receive a new lead in your dashboard
The form only appears when there are no results. If a visitor finds stores nearby, they'll never see it.
Enabling the leads form
Go to Leads Settings and toggle the feature on. You can also customize what the form looks like and what fields it collects from here.
To turn it off, just toggle it back. The form will stop appearing on your widget immediately.
Customizing the form
From Leads Settings, you can configure:
Form message: The text visitors see above the form. Something like "We're not in your area yet. Leave your info and we'll reach out when we are."
Fields shown: Choose what information to collect from visitors
Keep the form short. The more fields you add, the fewer people will fill it out.
Viewing your leads
Go to the Leads page to see all captured leads. Each entry shows:
Field | Description |
The visitor's email address | |
Search location | Where they searched (the address or area they entered) |
Date | When they submitted the form |
This tells you not just who's interested, but where the demand is. If you see a cluster of leads from the same area, that's a signal worth paying attention to.
Lead notifications
When a new lead comes in, StoreRocket can send you an email notification so you don't have to check the dashboard manually. Configure notification preferences in your Leads Settings.
Exporting leads
Click the Export button on the Leads page to download all your leads as a CSV file. This is handy for importing into your CRM, email marketing tool, or a spreadsheet for analysis.
Plan availability
The leads feature is available on the Business plan. If you're on Basic or Pro and don't see the leads settings, you'll need to upgrade from your Billing page.
Troubleshooting
Leads form not appearing
A few things to check:
Feature enabled? Go to Leads Settings and make sure it's toggled on
Plan check: Leads are only available on the Business plan
Results found: The form only shows when a search returns zero results. If there are stores nearby, the form won't appear. Try searching in an area with no locations to test it
Getting spam leads
If you're seeing junk submissions, this can happen with any public-facing form. The leads form has basic protections, but if spam becomes a problem, reach out to support and we can look into it.
Leads not sending email notifications
Check your notification settings in Leads Settings. Also check your spam folder. Notification emails come from StoreRocket's email system, and some email providers can be aggressive with filtering.
