When you have a lot of locations close together, the map can get crowded with overlapping pins. Marker clusters solve this by grouping nearby markers into a single numbered circle. Click the cluster to zoom in and see individual locations.
Enabling clusters
Go to Widget > Map Settings and scroll to the Marker Clusters section. Toggle it on and save.
Clusters work best with Google Maps. Mapbox has limited clustering support, so if you're using Mapbox and clusters aren't working as expected, consider switching to Google Maps for the full clustering experience.
Choosing a cluster color
You can pick from several color options to match your brand. The color selector is right below the clusters toggle in Map Settings.
How clusters work
Clusters are automatic. You don't need to configure which locations get clustered. The map groups them based on zoom level and how close they are to each other.
Zoomed out: Many locations merge into clusters showing a count (e.g. "24")
Zoomed in: Clusters break apart into individual markers
Click a cluster: The map zooms in to show the individual locations inside it
There's no minimum number of locations required. Even 2 overlapping markers can form a cluster.
Clusters not working?
If you enabled clusters but nothing changed:
Make sure you saved the settings after toggling clusters on
Try a hard refresh on your website (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R)
Open your store locator in an incognito window to rule out caching
Zoom out on the map. Clusters only appear when markers are close enough to overlap at the current zoom level.
Using Mapbox? Marker clusters have limited support on Mapbox. If clusters aren't appearing, try switching to Google Maps in your Map Provider settings. Google Maps has full clustering support with color customization.
